DR. TONY LE PAGE, R. PSYCH.

Dr. Le Page is a Registered Psychologist with Le Page and Associates. He began his academic training at St. Andrew’s University in Scotland, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Portland, Oregon, where his primary studies were in clinical psychology. His previous positions include the Clinic Director at the Vancouver Pain Clinic and the Director of Psychology at the B.C. Children’s Hospital. During the past 30 years Dr. Le Page has maintained a private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. He specializes in the rehabilitation of individuals with physical and emotional concerns, and he provides consultation to organisations on workplace stress and factors related to a psychologically healthy workplace.  

Dr. Le Page adopts an interdisciplinary approach where appropriate, and works with the other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of his patients. He provides an evidence-based treatment approach, including cognitive-behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, as well as couples counseling. Dr. Le Page conducts disability evaluations, which focus on evaluating factors related to psychological distress in the workplace, and ways of facilitating work return. The focus of his clinical practice is in the area of pain and disability management to patients suffering from a variety of chronic illness and pain conditions, mood and anxiety disorders, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, workplace stress and harassment. Dr. Le Page also works extensively with police and first responders, including the RCMP, VPD, DND, and paramedics, providing psychological assessment and treatment services, such as fitness for duty and applicant assessments and the treatment of operational stress injuries.  

Dr. Le Page is a consultant to Pain BC, where he conducts educational and training workshops on the management and treatment of chronic pain patients to a variety of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Le Page holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology, at Simon Fraser University, where he provides clinical supervision to graduate students in Clinical Psychology. He has given presentations and workshops to professional and lay audiences, as well as to management level employees at public and private organizations. Dr. Le Page is an active member of the Canadian Pain Society, the Canadian Psychological Association, and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
